LEGEND (the movie)

I've been needing to have a rant for a while about this, so this is the perfect place to start I suppose.
When I was a kid, my favorite movie of all time was Legend. The 1985 version starring Tom Cruise with music by Tangerine dream. I watched that movie so many times the VHS died from the wear down. This movie started an obsession with unicorns that lasted til my middle school years, at which point I lost interest in the collecting, but still held the magic of the movie in my head and heart.
Now, for my 15th birthday, my mom bought me the DVD version of Legend. I was so excited and thanked my mom for the next three days. As soon as I got the chance to watch it, I popped it into the DVD player, and sat down to watch the movie. Now, to my dismay, it had cut out and added a bunch or weird scenes, but worst of all it had orchestral music!!! If you've ever seen the 1985 movie, you'll agree that Tangerine Dream's AMAZING musical talent is what brought most of the magic, life, and energy to the movie. I abrubtly took the DVD out. It was a 2005 remake of the movie. If it had just been the small cuts and additions of scenes, it would've been fine, but they took the MUSIC away too.
It drives me crazy when Hollywood completely destroys good films in the process of doing "remakes" or enhanced movies. I liked Legend the way it was. Why take crap orchestral music and use it to replace a really talented group's musical gift? It's like buying a original of an artist, then burning it, or mangling it in some way. Why take beautiful art, and pointlessly destroy it? It doesn't make sense to me!!!

Does anyone have sentiments similar/like mine for a different favorite movie?
